The project is based on an invited competition held in 2000. The building site situates right beside the Helsinki railway station designed by Eliel Saarinen.
The building comprises different kind of facilities from hotel and office spaces to commercial spaces. The ground floor of the building forms a new city terminal for local trains. The demanding structures are made out of conrete and steel. The hotel comprises of 175 high quality rooms, restaurant and a lobby bar. The building materials are prepatinated copper, natural stone and glass.
