An innovation center is being built in the immediate vicinity of the Turku shipyard, closely linked to the operations of the Meyer Turku Oy shipyard. The new building will accommodate office spaces, product development facilities, and a restaurant, as well as the necessary technical and auxiliary spaces.

The office building consists of two eight-story, 23 x 40-meter rectangular sections (lamellas), with ventilation plant rooms on the top floors, as well as basement levels. There is a space reservation on the north side of the building for a potential future expansion. The light-colored building is designed to blend into the large-scale industrial environment of Meyer’s Turku shipyard.

There are three elevators per floor unit, one of which can function as a freight elevator when needed (sized to accommodate a stretcher), allowing moves and other logistics to be handled effortlessly. An accessible toilet opens directly into the elevator lobby, making it available to all operators. Smaller toilets and other auxiliary spaces can be tailored to meet the specific needs of each operator.
